Kenner, LA – Get ready for an action-packed day of adrenaline and inspiration at the Wentwood Playground Skatepark! On October 12th, 2024, the vibrant community of Kenner will host “Wheels in Motion,” a groundbreaking Wheelchair Motocross (WCMX) and Skateboarding competition that promises to be an unforgettable event for participants and spectators alike.
This exhilarating event, running from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, is open to all skateboard and WCMX athletes, showcasing the remarkable talents of adaptive athletes alongside traditional skateboarders. Participants must register by October 1st, 2024. Registration is open online at https://adaptiveskate.pro/wheelsinmotion-contest/index.html
Presented by TNT 360 Mobility, City of Kenner Parks and Recreation Department, S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates, and the World WCMX Federation, “Wheels in Motion” aims to highlight the incredible abilities of adaptive athletes and foster an inclusive environment within the extreme sports community. Numerous local community organizations have also joined hands to support this event.

Brief Summary: The “Wheels in Motion” program aims to establish a clinic-based Skateboarding and Wheelchair Motocross (WCMX) program catering to individuals and individuals with physical disabilities. This initiative focuses on providing access, education, and resources for wheelchair users to engage in adaptive sports, particularly WCMX and skateboarding.
Wheelchair motocross (WCMX) is an extreme sport where athletes use wheelchairs to perform tricks and stunts on skate park ramps. WCMX is the wheelchair version of BMX freestyle.
This inclusive program provides an opportunity to learn wheelchair control and mastery and earn an invitation to the 2024 World Wheelchair Motocross Championships.
