Meet Olympian Jack Elder
















Come meet Jack and hear his story at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum on November 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Jack Elder is an Olympian in luge, having competed at the Sapporo 1972 Olympic Winter Games. Jack learned luge in the early 1960s when he was in the USA Army stationed near Garmisch, Germany. His World Championships experience includes competing in 1965, 1967, 1970 and 1971. Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day is a collaborative effort between the Aspen Institute Project Play, Daniels Fund, and hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the state. The campaign runs throughout September and includes a dollar-for-dollar match of over $800,000 for all online donations starting Sept. 4, 2024. McClain also competed in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, and in 2023, she won a bronze medal at the World Championships and placed 8th in triathlon. Currently pursuing a PhD at Clemson University, she resides at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs with her guide dog, Uzo, and aims to compete in both sports at the Paralympics.
