Come meet Jack and hear his story at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum on November 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Jack Elder is an Olympian in luge, having competed at the Sapporo 1972 Olympic Winter Games. Jack learned luge in the early 1960s when he was in the USA Army stationed near Garmisch, Germany. His World Championships experience includes competing in 1965, 1967, 1970 and 1971. All athlete meet and greets and other offerings are included with the purchase of a general admission ticket to the museum. -

Team members from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, Olympic City USA, and various National Governing Bodies will visit the museum to share insights into their roles and how they contribute to Team USA’s success. Join us for a special session with Bernard Sandoval, Colorado Springs sports artist and Olympic City USA Taskforce member, as he shares his journey and techniques for capturing the spirit and energy of sports through oil painting. Mark your calendars for this Saturday, Sept. 21, and enjoy complimentary admission to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, thanks to the generosity of the Daniels Fund. This special offer is in celebration of Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day, a statewide effort to boost youth involvement in organized sports. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Team USA athletes throughout the day and listen to their powerful stories of dedication, perseverance, and the transformative power of sports. Local youth sports organizations will also be on hand, providing families with valuable resources to help get their children involved in organized sports and promoting personal growth both on and off the field.
Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day is a collaborative effort between the Aspen Institute Project Play, Daniels Fund, and hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the state. The campaign runs throughout September and includes a dollar-for-dollar match of over $800,000 for all online donations starting Sept. 4, 2024.
