    The Instructional Swim program is for individuals who have a physical or visual disability that are new to swimming. Athletes will be assigned one-on-one to a volunteer swim instructor. Floatation devices will not be used in the teaching progression. (Sessions: 4:00 – 4:45 pm & 5:00 – 5:45 pm, ages 5-17). There are additional sessions for instructional swim on Tuesday evenings at the Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg.
    The Competitive Swim program is designed for swimmers who are able to swim at least 50 meters consecutively, can be completely independent while in the water (no volunteer or coach assistance needed), and who are currently or plan to swim with a club or high school in the future. Workouts are provided to increase endurance, strength and speed. Instruction is given to fine tune technique. Recreational swimmers who are looking to improve their technique or stroke are welcome. (Session: 6:00 – 7:00 pm)

    Join GLASA Swim for a fun, non-sanctioned meet! This free meet will provide an opportunity for the area’s more experienced para swimmers to showcase their strokes in an exhibition swim meet.
    First time and beginners welcome!!
    Newer para athletes will swim their events as coaches on deck critique and provide feedback on swimmers’ strokes.
