Location:Celebrate Halloween with us at McKnight Outdoor Education Center’s Trail or Treat! This non-scary, family-friendly event invites children and families to wear their favorite costumes and enjoy a fun, light-hearted stroll through our outdoor trail. Staff members will be stationed along the way handing out candy and treats.
After your adventure on the trail, head inside the building where community partners will have tables set up with engaging activities and resources- perfect for all ages! This event offers a FREE, festive, fun and unique way to enjoy the season. Register now! -
FridayOct 25 2024Outdoor Explorers Night Out– (EDT)
Location:Parents ad guardians can enjoy an evening off! Join us for outdoor games, a night hike, and stories around the fire. Costumes are encouraged, but dress for the weather.
This is a non-scary program that will include time outdoors in the dark. -
WednesdayOct 16 2024Adaptive Outdoor Education Pumpkin Carving– (EDT)
Location:Join us in this collaborative program with our Therapeutic Recreation section! We will spend the evening getting into the spooky spirit and carving pumpkins inside the Ottawa Lodge. This is a non-scary event and all materials will be provided. $5 per participant, register online now.

SaturdaySep 21 2024Teen Outdoor Day– (EDT)
Location:Come and spend the day exploring nature and enjoying outdoor activities in this program aimed at teen girls ages 12-18. Go canoeing, try your hand at archery, experience the wonderful world of birding and learn how to work together to build a campfire. This event runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Space is limited so make sure you register today!
Teen Outdoor Day is presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks’ Girls Empowerment in partnership with the 1+1 Foundation. Registration is required, contact Schiller Center at 614 645-3156 for more information.
