Held in conjunction with the 10th Annual Quarry Road Opener!
Join Colby College Assistant Coach and USSS National Faculty member Justin Fereshetian for a USSS L100 certification assessment. Coaches should be prepared for a roughly ~2-3hr assessment on snow. Details regarding day of instructions – technique, meeting place etc… – will be emailed to participants after registration deadline on Sunday, November 24th.
What do I need to do prior to USSS L100 Assessment?

1. Renew USSS Coach Membership and complete the steps to be active (SafeSport and Safety Requirements).
2. Join USSS Sport Education Academy at Gold Tier level.
3. Enroll and Complete Coaching Fundamentals and L100 Curriculum online.
4. Register on the Sport Ed. Academy for “2024-25 XC L100 – Waterville, ME – EAST In-person Assessment.” Registration deadline is Sat. November 24th. If you miss the deadline, please email Justin Fereshetian, [email protected]
5. Watch your email inbox for specific day-of instructions from Justin Fereshetian.
6. Coach! Certify! SKI!
Coaches must complete the online portion of the L100 curriculum before registering for the on-snow assessment. Registration for the on-snow assessment is through the Sport Education Academy. Please note that the cost of this assessment is $50.
This USSS L100 assessment will be administered by Colby College Assistant Coach and USSS National Faculty member Justin Fereshetian. Location:The BKL Festival is the marquee event of the Bill Koch Youth Ski League whose mission is to introduce young people to the lifelong sport of cross-country skiing, and the many associated health, fitness, and social benefits, in a fun, inclusive, and safe environment. The Festival features racing as well as a wide range of winter adventure activities for skiers of all ability levels from kindergarten up to 8th grade.
