About “This is How We Roll”
Our Visionary: Jenny Addis’ life took a tragic turn in 1997 when a drunk driving accident left her paralyzed from the chest down at just 24 years old. Despite the physical limitations she faced, Jenny refused to let her circumstances define her. She embarked on a journey to find purpose and live life to the fullest, serving as a beacon of resilience and determination.
In October of 2013, Jenny combined her love of fashion with her passion for advocating for individuals with spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions requiring the use of a wheelchair. She organized the inaugural This is How We Roll, a fashion show celebrating these individuals’ bravery and beauty, while also raising funds for spinal cord research.
Jenny’s dedication to empowering others and raising awareness about spinal cord injuries showcases her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact despite the challenges she has faced. Her story continues to inspire others to embrace life with courage and resilience.
Our Mission: This is How We Roll shines a spotlight on the vital aspects of medical research, wheelchair accessibility, and community inclusion. By dismantling barriers and challenging stereotypes surrounding wheelchair users, we aim to foster a more inclusive society.
This inspiring and enjoyable event provides each model with a life-changing experience by promoting positivity, self-worth, and essential life skills. Our diverse lineup of models represents individuals from various backgrounds, including teachers, nurses, lawyers, school children, and even pageant titleholders. Furthermore, the impact of this event extends to attendees and volunteers, leaving them inspired and uplifted as well. It’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression, igniting positive change in everyone involved!
