2023 BOBBY CURTIS GREEN BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
USTA Florida will once again be holding the annual Bobby Curtis Green Ball Section Championships. This years tournament will be held at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, FL.
The Tournament will be held on Saturday October 28th and Sunday October 29th.
Registration for this tournament will open at 12:00 pm. EST on Saturday July 1st 2023
Entry in the tournament will be a 32 draw for both Boys and Girls and selection will be based on the following eligibility requirements:
Players MUST BE members of the Florida Section based on their USTA Membership.
Selection will be based on the date of registration.
Players MUST BE 10 years old or younger.
Players MUST BE Green Ball eligible or Mission Complete.
Green Ball championships:Draw size: 32 per division
Format: Compass
Selection: First 32 based on date of registration.
Scoring: Best 2 of 3 short sets to 4 with the deciding game at 3-3. 10pt TB for 3rd. No-Ad all matches.
Awards for 1st thru 6th place plus Consi winner and finalist.All players play 3 matches on Saturday. All players come back for at least 1 match on Sunday. Each round runs near 45 minutes for scheduling.

What is the Quest for the Golden Ticket?
Elligible winners from this tournament will be invited to compete in the USTA Florida NTRP Sectional tournament in 2025. Winners of the Sectional tournament will receive a Golden Ticket and Endorsement to NTRP Nationals.

Format
MATCH FORMAT : Best two of three short sets, 7 pt tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd set.
GAME FORMAT: First to 4 games wins the set.
SCORING FORMAT: No-ad scoring will be used. The receiver chooses which side the point is played.
TIEBREAKER AT 3 GAMES ALL:

· First to 7 points, by 2 standard Coman Style
Round robin play will be used in all divisions. All divisions need a minimum of 3 players for singles and 3 teams for doubles in order to be played. Draws of 3 will be best two of three short sets. Multiple flights may lead to a semifinal or final depending on draw size and may be played the following day for singles. Max 8 players per division, based on first come first serve.

For all Florida NTRP Regional Qualifiers, self-rated (S) players may participate, but MUST achieve a USTA computer (C), tournament (T) or appealed (A) rating before being eligible to advance to the Sectional NTRP Qualifier or National NTRP Championships. In the event that a player does not achieve the eligible rating for any reason, the next eligible player/team will be invited (based on the procedure outlined in Friend at Court).
If you are a Self-Rated player, please work with your USTA Local Play Coordinator to determine a strategy for achieving a rating.

SaturdayAug 24 2024Unsanctioned: USTA Florida Adaptive Unified Doubles National Qualifier 2024through (UTC)
Location:The top two teams will advance to the National Championship in Orlando later this year.
Teams must consist of one Adaptive player and one non-adaptive player. Teams will play Unified Doubles, Two tiebreak sets(No ad scoring), 7-point match tiebreak at one set all.
