In addition, the Austin Rec’ers reach out to provide community education and disability awareness. The Austin River City Rec’ers also lead by example and provide financial assistance to youth sports organizations that promote community participation.
Open To All Players We are always looking for new players and encouraging our existing players to invite their friends to practice. We have opportunities for all ages and levels of players. We have both a D2 and D3 team; covering experience levels from beginners to advanced players.
We have two juniors teams: prep and junior varsity. Prep is for kids < 13 years old. JV is for teenage players from 13-18 years old. We also have almost enough women for a full women's team.
Our ladies also play on the D2 and D3 teams! Extra basketball chairs are available but fill-up quickly.
Please confirm with Ray Turner: [email protected] if you plan on attending practice. You can play wheelchair basketball if you have a physical disability. Examples include spinal cord injury, amputee, muscular disease, stroke, etc. Practice includes stretching, drills and we typically finish by playing a quick game.
