About All Season Adaptive Sports
All Season Adaptive Sports has been “denying barriers and defying gravity” since 1976. SAAS provides alpine skiing and snowboarding learning experiences to people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities, including physical and motor, cognitive and social, and sensory disabilities.
We are located at Ski Apache Ski Area, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, the southernmost ski area in the U.S.
We aim to help those with the desire to feel the freedom of downhill skiing or snowboarding no matter what they believe their limitations may be. We serve any person of any age who has a permanent disability.
Our Goals
Increase participation: Our primary goal is to increase the number of individuals with disabilities who participate in adaptive sports. We strive to provide accessible, inclusive, and welcoming programs that cater to a wide range of abilities and interests.
Enhance physical fitness and skills: We aim to improve the physical fitness, strength, and skills of our participants through structured training programs and coaching. Our goal is to help individuals with disabilities develop their athletic abilities and reach their full potential in adaptive sports.
Foster social connection and community: We seek to create a supportive and inclusive community where individuals with disabilities can connect with peers, build friendships, and feel a sense of belonging. Our goal is to provide a platform for social interaction, teamwork, and shared experiences.
Promote independence and self-confidence: We strive to empower individuals with disabilities by promoting independence and self-confidence through adaptive sports. Our goal is to help participants develop a sense of accomplishment, resilience, and belief in their abilities, both on and off the field.
Provide access to adaptive equipment and resources: We aim to ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to the necessary adaptive equipment, specialized gear, and resources to fully participate in adaptive sports. Our goal is to remove financial barriers and provide support in acquiring appropriate equipment.
Advocate for accessibility and inclusion: We are committed to advocating for accessibility and inclusion in adaptive sports at the local, regional, and national levels. Our goal is to raise awareness, promote policy changes, and work with community partners to create a more inclusive and accepting environment for individuals with disabilities.
Expand program reach: We aspire to expand our adaptive sports program to reach more individuals with disabilities in our community and beyond. Our goal is to establish partnerships, secure funding, and develop sustainable strategies that allow us to grow our program and impact more lives.
Measure and evaluate impact: We are dedicated to measuring and evaluating the impact of our adaptive sports program on the lives of participants. Our goal is to collect data, conduct surveys, and gather feedback to continuously improve our programs and ensure that we are meeting the needs of our participants effectively.
Provide education and training opportunities: We aim to provide educational and training opportunities for participants, coaches, volunteers, and the broader community. Our goal is to promote understanding, knowledge, and skills related to adaptive sports, disability awareness, and inclusive practices.
Collaborate and network: We strive to collaborate with other organizations, community partners, and stakeholders to maximize our impact. Our goal is to build a network of support.
