Description
Adaptive Adventures will be joining forces with The Ski Broncs in Loves Park, IL to bring you a fun-filled day of waterskiing along the Rock River! Our trained staff and volunteers will provide equipment and teach essential skills for all abilities to be able to get out on the water. Lunch and water will be provided for participants and volunteers. We will make every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet all requests.
Who Can Attend?
This event is for anyone in the greater Rockford area with a primary physical disability! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider looking to improve your skills, we have something for you.
In order to participate in Access Adventure: Water Ski, participants must be able to close their mouths and right themselves so that they are face up in the water. There is a 220lb weight limit for all sit skiers. Adaptive Adventures staff reserve the right to verify these requirements.
**Please Note - All participants must be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with or without assistance provided by themselves to be eligible for Adaptive Adventures programs.
Where and When?
This event is located at Shorewood Park in Loves Park, IL.
This water ski program is split into two sessions: morning from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM and afternoon from 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM. Spots for each of these sessions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive no later than 9:30am (AM session) or 1:00 PM (PM session) in order to be fitted for your PFD (personal floatation device), water ski equipment and get out on the water on time.
You must register to attend this event. Please arrive on time. Please notify staff in case of cancellation, running late, or any other event.

How Should I Dress & Things to bring?
Please wear appropriate swim attire and water/closed toe shoes. Participants are recommended to bring a towel, sunscreen, hat, and change of clothes for the ride home.
I Want to Volunteer
We welcome volunteers to support and learn with us. Volunteers are required to stay for both sessions and are allocated roles based on experience and skill set. Please let us know your areas of strength and how we can best support you in your role.
We will host a mandatory volunteer training before the program from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM. Any new volunteers who have not participated in Adaptive Adventures' Water Ski program before MUST attend this training.
