["The Walter N. Levy Challenge is a 6.5-mile combat endurance course that challenges its participants physically and mentally. This course includes obstacles that will challenge and push you further than you could possibly imagine. The goal of the race is to raise awareness and money for wounded Military veterans who have served and who currently serve. It is important to recognize the American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice and show them our support. The Levy Challenge is made possible by its creators, Norwich University’s Walter N. Levy Semper Fidelis Society, its proud sponsors, and its generous and resilient participants. Levy Challenge is scheduled for September 29, 2024. Packet pick-up will begin at 0630 and the race will commence at 0900. \nThe race includes weighted runs with sandbags, rucks, and litter (stretcher) carries. There will also be water obstacles on the course. Parking will be directed by road guards and will be designated by signs upon arrival at Norwich University. \nParticipants are encouraged to wear either running sneakers or boots. Whether participants wear athletic shorts, pants, shirts or military-style attire is solely up to them. However, it is better to wear layers that can be shed. There may be some obstacles that will require you to go down onto your hands and knees. It is highly advised to bring extra warm clothes to change into as you will be getting wet during the race. \nWho was Walter N. Levy?\nWalter N. Levy attended Norwich University, Class of 1963 and served as a Marine Corps Second Lieutenant Infantry Officer. He was killed in action on September 18th, 1965 in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.
