Come volunteer between August 23 through August 24, 2024 for our Kentucky School for the Blind Family Retreat!

Program Counselors: Earn Up to 40+ Service Hours! Experience the joy of interacting with many campers and their families by electing to volunteer as a Program Counselor. These volunteers assist with facilitating preplanned activities in a specific program area. Our program areas include: the pool, wood shop, arts and crafts, archery, horse barn, fishing, the bowling alley and many more. Each Program Counselor is expected to join the family s/he is assigned for meals and evening activities.

Family weekends require a three-day commitment including attendance at volunteer orientation at the start of the weekend, Friday-Sunday. All volunteer counselors must be at least 18 years old.

Need to know

Once your application is submitted you will be sent a background check, to your email address provided, from [email protected]. Please make sure you check your spam/junk folder.

Upon approval of your background check, you will then receive a confirmation email stating acceptance to volunteer with CCK.

When you are accepted, you will receive an email that contains important information about the weekend, volunteer pre-orientation, and a packing list that will be sent from the Volunteer Coordinator [email protected].

Please plan to arrive at camp on Friday at 2:00pm/CST. Volunteers will by dismissed by 1:00pm/CST on Sunday.
