Special Olympics Maine Equestrian Coaches Training 2026!!
At Hearts & Horses Farm
63 Justin Merrill Rd. Buxton, ME.
Sunday April  19th
9:30 am – 3 pm. Lunch will be provided. 
Registration: 9:00-9:20 am 
This is a certification to coach Athletes!   Training is FREE!
Who Should Sign Up For Coaches Training At Hearts and Horses? Anyone 16 yrs of age or older who has never attended training and wants to become a Special Olympics Coach or Assistant Coach.
***Special Note***:  Are you a certified coach who has volunteers in your program that you feel would benefit from more training on horse handling and how to support athletes as side walkers?   If so, please reach out to Kim Kennedy: [email protected]  Your input will help us create a plan to better support you and your team!
Requirements:

Attend the in-person Equestrian Coach Certification Course at Hearts & Horses.
Complete 10 additional hours of practicum (hands-on training) at a Special Olympics approved facility (Hearts & Horses, Buxton, ME, Healing Horses, Bowdoin, ME, or Riding to the Top, Windham, ME.)

III. Submit a Sports Application to Special Olympics Maine. (You will receive this paperwork at coaches training)
