On Saturday, March 14, 2026, law enforcement officers and community supporters from across Maine will gather at American Legion Post 40 in Winthrop for the Ice Out Plunge—a Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Maine.
The plunge begins at 12:00 p.m., when brave participants take turns jumping into a hole cut directly into the ice on Maranacook Lake. It’s cold, it’s bold, and it’s all for a great cause.
