Description

This dynamic program brings athletes together to learn, play, and enjoy the exciting game of stand-up basketball in a fun and supportive environment. Running through the fall and winter seasons, participants will build skills through engaging drills and spirited pick-up games that promote teamwork, confidence, and a love for the game.
ELIGIBILITY:

Designed specifically for middle and high school athletes with mobility impairments, this program focuses on ability and inclusion. To fully participate and make the most of the experience, athletes must be able to run, walk, and jump without the use of assistive devices. Wheelchair users are encouraged to explore our wheelchair basketball program.
As with all Adaptive Sports New England programs, athletes should demonstrate typical cognitive and behavioral development and be able to participate independently. While we believe that all children deserve and can benefit from learning basketball, these programs are not designed to provide the special support that children on the autism spectrum or children with intellectual impairments deserve.
