Description

The Kelly Brush Foundation is excited to announce the 4th annual KBF Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp taking place October 1st-4th, 2024!. This year’s camp will focus on creating an opportunity for those who don’t own an adaptive mountain bike and for those who have previously received grant funding or otherwise acquired an off-road handcycle to help everyone level up their skills and get out and ride and most importantly have fun.

Eligibility: Individuals with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury who reside in the United States. Other conditions are not eligible for this program, including (but not limited to) spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio, Guillain-Barre´ Strohl Syndrome, ALS, all other neuropathies, and all other conditions causing disability.

We welcome individuals of all riding abilities — beginner through advanced —  who need an offroad handcycle or own their own offroad handcycle. You will need to be able to provide your own transportation for yourself and your handcycle to East Burke, VT with up to $500 in travel vouchers included (flight, gas, train, rental car).

When: Tuesday October 1st – Friday October 4th, 2024

What and where: Join the KBF for three days of biking in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The camp features 2 days of trail riding at Kingdom Trails and 1 day of downhill riding at Burke Mountain Bike Park. All abilities welcome!

What’s included: 3 night stay at Burke Mountain Resort, with 3 days of breakfast, 3 lunches and 1 dinner. All trail passes and lift tickets will also be included. Please let us know if there is any other equipment you might need outside of your off road handcycle.

In addition to the Kelly Brush Foundation team, you will also be led and supported by an amazing group of people involved in the adaptive mountain bike community, including staff from Vermont Adaptive and other adaptive programs throughout the country.

How to apply: Please fill out this short application. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 5pm EST. We will notify all applicants of a decision by August 16, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Greg Durso, Sr. Program Director at [email protected].
