Description
From Stowe Nordic and the Trapp Family Lodge:
Our next Sunday Funday is scheduled for Sunday, March 9. Every day is fun at Trapp, but Sunday, March 9 will be especially fun with a race, a talk with Noah Dines, and a Juniors/BKL Cabin Challenge ski. Join us for some or all of the activities below:
*
9AM: Race to the Cabin. Registration and more details here.
*
11AM: A Juniors-Focused Talk with Noah Dines in the Mozart Room. Stowe local Noah Dines recently set the world record for most vertical in one year with over 3.5 million vertical feet of human powered skiing and will be giving a talk and holding a Q&A about his big year. Come listen and get inspired and learn about all the places skiing can take you. When you ski over 6,000 miles and over 2,200 hours in a year you learn a lot about skiing and life and Noah will be sharing some lessons for the young skiers in attendance. You can read more about Noah in this Powder Magazine article here. Note: The talk is going to be geared towards Juniors and until March 1 registration is only open to parties with an 18-year old or younger. If space is available, anybody can register after March 1. There is no fee for the talk. Register here.
*
12:30PM: Juniors/BKL Cabin Challenge. Ski to (or towards) the Cabin. We will meet outside the Yurt to ski to (or towards) the Cabin. There will be a mass start in the Stadium for the young skiers and their parents/guardians. There will be some volunteers skiing back and forth along the route cheering on and shepherding the young skiers as they ski Sugar Road, Parizo, and the Cabin Trail. There will be small prizes and treats along the way for those joining the Cabin Challenge. There is no extra fee for the Cabin Challenge, though all skiers need a day or season pass to be on the trails.
