After winning the gold medal in Sydney in 2000, Magnus felt the need to give back to the sailing community. He focused on training athletes with Paralympic ambitions and had great success, with podium finishes at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Paralympic Games. When sailing was eliminated from Paralympic competition, the mission and focus of Team Paradise evolved and expanded, and Magnus began offering sailing for veterans with disabilities and youth with diverse backgrounds.</p> <p><strong>WE ARE GROWING</strong></p> <p>In December of 2014, Team Paradise moved its base of operations to the US Sailing Center. This move provided increased opportunities to promote diversity in the sport of sailing, and allowed for expanded programming to educate and inspire lifelong sailors from all backgrounds.
