After a few years-hiatus, we’re back! Come race the mid-January cobwebs out at the second iteration of the Craftsbury Scramble, a freestyle team sprint for all ages. A team sprint is a two-person relay in which the first team member races around a short course, tags off to the second team member, who races around the same course and tags back to the first team member again, repeating until each team member has skied three times. Costumes encouraged.
The event is a fundraiser for the Kathy Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps offset racing and programming costs for members of the Craftsbury Ski Club. Racers can also expect cookies, a raffle from the ski club’s legendary prize box, and a good time all around.
Racers are encouraged to find a buddy and sign up as a team. Individuals looking for a teammate may sign up as a solo team, and organizers will pair you with someone once registration closes.
Schedule of Events:
Race organizers may choose to consolidate start times based on registration numbers. Please note that the “post-race brunch” will be a rolling, self-serve kinda thing in order to keep folks (a) fed when they’re hungry, and (b) moving along. 
10:00am: Open Men’s, Women’s and Mixed teams start
11:00am: BKL teams start – Grades 5/6 and 7/8
11:30am: BKL teams start – Grades 1/2 and 3/4 + Lollipoppers
12:30pm: awards (tentative)
Age Groups: in the open race, the age-group category of your team is determined by the age group you would fall under if you averaged your team member’s ages.
In the BKL race, teams will “race up” in the category of your oldest team member.
Course: Course maps will be uploaded below when available. These race courses are “open” and competitors are expected to yield to non-racers if necessary. Please help us by being courteous in the event that you need to pass a non-racer.
Refunds
In the event that we are forced to cancel the event, we will refund participants their entry fees.
