  Alabama. Encouraged by her mother and grandmother\, she developed her t
 alents as a singer\, guitarist and songwriter\, though she initially pre
 ferred writing and playing behind the scenes rather than stepping into t
 he spotlight. Her path eventually led her through community college stud
 ies\, service in the U.S. Navy performing with the Navy band Pride and t
 ime in New York’s songwriting community before returning to Texas to foc
 us on her own voice as a recording artist. Over time\, she built a celeb
